About
Arnaud Lejeune is a French trail and ultrarunner from Bellevaux in the Haute-Savoie who abandoned over twenty-five years of competitive football in 2010 after discovering trail running — one of the sport's most dramatic late conversions. A restaurant manager based in Geneva, he progressed from his local Brevon Valley trail race to world-class performance within two years: in 2012 he finished 3rd at the Grand Raid de la Réunion (La Diagonale des Fous) and 8th at UTMB Mont-Blanc, a brace of top-ten results at two of ultra trail's most demanding races in a single year that announced him as a major talent. Renowned for an absolute refusal to abandon a race — a mental characteristic he regards as definitive to his competitive identity — he navigated a difficult injury period in 2013 before returning to sustained competition. His UTMB Index of 782 and recent 6th place at Wildstrubel by UTMB 2025 confirm a career that has now spanned more than fifteen years.
