About
Angélique Plaire is a French trail runner and sports coach who has made New Caledonia her home and competitive base, becoming the most dominant force in South Pacific ultra trail racing while building a respected international profile. A three-time winner of the Ultra-Trail de Nouvelle-Calédonie (UTNC), she demonstrated her continental reach by placing 2nd at the Ultra-Trail Australia 100K in 2019 (12:05:18) and 3rd at the Tarawera 100K in New Zealand, a résumé spanning three nations. A mother since March 2020 — giving birth during the COVID-19 lockdown — she has spoken candidly about how motherhood sharpened her competitive drive, saying she now races faster to get home sooner. She has a UTMB Index of 603 and won the women's race at the Grand Raid des Pyrénées Tour des Cirques in 2024.
