About
Andy Symonds is a British trail and ultrarunner born in Manchester who has spent over two decades racing at elite level on the European mountain circuit while building his life in Lagnes, a village in the limestone hills of Provence. A fixture on the Ultra-Trail World Tour for more than a decade, he combines competitive longevity with some landmark race victories. His key wins include the Lavaredo Ultra Trail in the Dolomites (2016), the UTAT 105k across the Atlas Mountains of Morocco (2015, 13:41), and multiple wins in France and beyond. At UTMB Mont-Blanc he has progressed from an abandoned first attempt in 2016 through 16th place (2017) to a strong 5th place (2019). He won the Wild110 at Wildstrubel by UTMB in 2023 in 12:51:27, and in 2026 claimed the Grand Raid Ventoux by UTMB — proof that over 20 years of mountain racing has sharpened rather than dulled his competitive edge.
