About
Amy Lamprecht is an Australian trail ultrarunner and coach who has been one of Tasmania's and Australia's most celebrated ultra-distance athletes for over two decades. Born and raised in Tasmania — where her father worked for the Hydro electric scheme — she began running when her children were young and discovered that quiet determination was her greatest asset. She co-owns Ultrain and UltraChix, a Tasmania-based trail running and events coaching business, with partner John Claridge, blending elite racing with grassroots community building. Her standout victories include the Ultra-Trail Australia 100 (11:03:28, finishing 11th overall), the Cradle Mountain Run — an 82km single-day traverse of Tasmania's Overland Track from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair in 7:20 — and the multi-day Buffalo Stampede. She was awarded Australian Female Ultra Runner of the Year, confirming her standing as the benchmark for women's ultrarunning in Australia.
